The Pope!

The first American Pope that is.

A few days before we left for Italy, the new Pope had been selected. Now what I did not expect, was to see him while in Rome.

Yet, Stella searched the internet to find a way to see the new Pope during our time, and happened to figure out how we could do it. So, we registered, stood in line on a random street behind the Trevi fountain, got tickets , and were set to see the Pope the next day.

What a realization it was that I was getting the opportunity to experience actual history. We were able to be in attendance at the very first general audience for the new Pope.

Hearing the ceremony and celebrations from the crown in different languages was amazing. It was a reminder that no matter where we are, who we are, what denomination we are, God died for all of our sins. We are all God’s children and worship Him.
